Fido's Permethrin Rinse Concentrate for Dogs and Horses
Manufacturer: Mavlab Pty Ltd Permethrin 25:75 (cis:trans) 40 g/L. Description A mild formulation which will not irritate even the most sensitive skins. It has been prepared to clean the coat, and to kill flies, fleas and ticks. It will produce a soft lustrous coat and reduce animal odours. Actions A third generation synthetic pyrethroid which acts on the neuromuscular system of flies, fleas and ticks. Pyrethroids are more photostable than pyrethrins. Permethrin (25:75) has the lowest level of dermal irritation and systemic toxicity of any of the third generation pyrethroids. Permethrin also has an insect repellent action, aiding in treatment and control of insect bite allergies. Indications Control of fleas (Ctenocephalides felis and Ct. canis) on dogs. An aid in the treatment of flea allergy dermatitis (summer eczema) on dogs. Control of pyrethroid sensitive flies: buffalo fly (Haematobia irritans exigua), stable fly (Stomoxys calcitrans) and biting insects (Culicoides sp.) on horses. An aid in the treatment of Queensland itch on horses. Contraindications Administration to sick or convalescing animals, or to cats. Administration to dogs less than 3 months of age. Precautions In paralysis tick areas, daily examination of dogs is necessary. Remove any ticks found. Do not use Fido's Permethrin Rinse Concentrate in methylated spirits on broken skin. Safety directions Avoid contact with the skin and eyes, and avoid breathing vapour. When preparing spray wear rubber gloves. Wash exposed parts of the body with soap and water after use, and before eating, drinking or smoking. First Aid If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126. Disposal Do not re-use container. Dispose of empty container by wrapping with paper and putting in garbage. Directions for Use Spray. Obtain a trigger spray device. Add 10 mL of Fido's Permethrin Rinse Concentrate to every 400 mL of water (or 400 mL of methylated spirits if rapid drying is desired). Hold container approximately 20 cm from coat, ruffling the coat while spraying, and check that adequate penetration and coverage is occurring. Spray entire animal but avoid eyes and mouth. Allow to dry on coat. Rinse. If using a shampoo, rinse suds off in clean water, than allow excess water to drain off coat. May be applied to a dry coat. A sponge assists application. Foaming of this product will not affect performance. Keep away from eyes and mouth. Repeat application as often as is required to control the symptoms in animals with insect bite allergy. Zone control. To aid in the control of flea infestations, bedding should be changed or sprayed with this product and allowed to dry. Areas frequented by the animal should also be treated with this product (diluted) when suitable.
