Flystrike Powder

Registered Name Coopers Fly Strike Powder Insecticide
 Composition Diazinon 15 g/kg, piperonyl butoxide 0.8 g/kg, pyrethrins 1 g/kg.
 Indications Flystrike on all animals, including pollstrike on sheep; after lamb marking, mulesing, dehorning or as a general wound dressing.
 Warnings Dangerous to fish. Do not contaminate dams, rivers, streams or waterways with the chemical or used container.
 Precautions
Safety directions. Harmful if swallowed. Repeated minor exposure may have a cumulative poisoning effect. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale dust. When using the product wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, a washable hat and elbow length PVC gloves. Wash hands, arms and face thoroughly with soap and water after use and before eating, drinking and smoking. Wash contaminated clothing after each day's use.
First aid. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126.
 Withholding Periods Meat. Sheep, pigs, goats: 14 days; cattle: 3 days.
 Export Slaughter Interval Sheep: 21 days; cattle: 3 days.
 Directions for use Shear the wool or clip the hair from the affected parts to be dressed. Apply powder by means of a puffer, shaker tin, or other suitable applicator. Dust wound lightly with the powder, introducing it into any cavities beneath the skin. Also dust the wool and skin bordering the strike, particularly areas between skin wrinkles. For control of poll-strike, fly strike after marking, mulesing and dehorning apply liberally to the affected area.
